Just a few weeks back I had a lovely trip to Dumfries and Galloway. and already I am missing it!! I sat wistfully wishing myself back there while I was doing this painting.
This is a reminiscence of a windy, blustery, fresh day with lots of light. The sea turquoise and the clouds begining to gather and billow like washing on a line.
The cliffs and rocks around here have a tendency to greys/blues/greens as the area is known for it's granite and Dumfries is often referred to as the granite town. Typical of Scotland, its not all twee and pretty, but drama, light and movement. The feeling I got here is of movement and flow and I hope you can feel a sense of that as you look at it too.
I love the flowing sea in this and the colours in the landscape especially the turqouise that I mixed and created for the water. It makes me want to jump in and the colours make my eyes zing with light !! : )
I wonder what special places bring this sort of energy to you?
