"Everyday Grattitudes" Watercolour by Adele Doxey.
As the sun hit a bunch of flowers in my yard the other day. I was inspired to catch it in paint. The feeling I get in these moments are indescribable.
Life can be so simple, when we take time to capture small moments of pure joy. I often wonder what the world would be like if all are wishes were about what we already have.
One of my favourite quotes sums it up for me. "People from a planet without flowers must think us mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us" Iris Murdoch.
Often, we spend so much time in pursuit of an elusive feeling of happiness, but imagine if we stopped all that striving for a moment and took stock of the wonderful things that make our lives unique and a miracle. These little moments are so special and powerful, but also delicate. They can be easily missed.
Life can be a struggle, no doubt, and I have experienced a lot of life's biggies,
But if we can take moments to choose the best feelings we can find and seek out things to be grateful for, it can make such a difference to our overall happiness and wellbeing.
Here are some tips to help you capture your moments:
The obvious one, take a camera everywhere and be really conscious of capturing your grateful moments.
Create something as a thank you to the beautiful world.
Begin a grattitude journal, each day reflecting on the small moments.
Take time to reflect and say thank you.
Take a grattitude walk. just noticing all the things around you that you are grateful for. and repeating the mantra "thank you".
Share your grattitudes with others too. Get into the habit of talking about the good stuff.
You may surprise yourself with how quickly the things to be grateful for fills up and how you stop ignoring them.
May all your wishes come true. Have a great day.
